Interdisciplinary explorations of water, knowledge and the body
The Traumformat Embodied Waters- Embodied Knowledges. Interdisciplinary explorations of water, knowledge and the body by Louisa Kistemaker and Lea Weigel examines the interconnection of body, water and knowledge.
At the kick-off online meeting on November 29, the participants got to know each other and approached the concepts of water, knowledge and body together using associations, objects and gestures.
Afterwards, the participants worked individually on scores that offered various tasks and approaches for experimenting with and exploring water, knowledge and the body. In this way, photos and sounds of water were taken, water samples collected, audio walks undertaken and texts written, which were compiled in the workshop.
If you look in the water, do you recognize the water in you
On December 13, participants, initiators and guests came together at vier.zentrale in Mühlheim an der Ruhr. The morning was accompanied by artist and curator Nada Rosa Schroer together with dancers and performers Constanza Ruiz and Greta Salgado from the collective .Dencuentro. Under the title “If you look in the water, do you recognize the water in you”, the group embarked on a performative-interactive journey into the age of the hydrocene.

Sound of Water
In the afternoon, musician and sound designer Einar Fehrholz gave an insight into the Aquateque project. Aquateque is based on sound and visual recordings of the river Ruhr, which he transformed into an audiovisual installation together with the artist duo Studio Above&Below. In the subsequent workshop, all participants had the opportunity to use a hydrophone to create their own (under)water sounds, record them and edit them with sound effects.
In the end, all participants brought their ideas, experiences and results together in an improvisation and the Traumformat came to a successful conclusion in the presentation of the score-based research results and texts, in the live production of water sounds and in the joint movement.
