Workshop-Camp of Cheers for Fears in cooperation with Tanzhaus NRW
24. & October 25, 2020, each 11 a.m. to approx. 6 p.m. in Düsseldorf
How to dance Lindy Hop? What do I need to keep in mind when speaking chorally on stage? How do I get a noise-free sound recording? What strategies do I use to make myself invisible or especially visible in public? What are do’s and don’ts for more diversity? What characterizes a stringent application? And how do I get rid of the back pain that writing has given me?
Based on the conviction that every performing arts actor – regardless of age or artistic or academic background – brings with them a knowledge, skills and talents waiting to be shared, the networking initiative Cheers for Fears developed the workshop camp, in which all participants are teachers and learners at the same time: In one-and-a-half-hour workshops, each participant had the opportunity to convey a certain aspect of their own artistic work and to pass on their own knowledge, and immediately afterwards, in the next workshops, to get to know the specialist* knowledge and superhero* skills of the other participants.
The actors were free to simply participate or to give an additional one-and-a-half-hour workshop. There was a small payment for workshop givers. The day was designed so that you could attend the other workshops before or after your own workshop. The workshops should deal with a topic close to the heart of the actors – and be limited to a specific aspect of their skills.
Workshop topicscould come from the following areas:
- Body and movement, voice and choir
- artistic strategies
- Project concepts, promotion, production management
- Art Theory
- Video, photography, light, sound etc.
- Layout, design, text and image processing programs
- Communication methods
- Art in times of COVID-19
The deadline for registration was 05 October 2020.
